Kindbridge Research Institute announced the creation of a Military Gambling Awareness Committee (MGAC). The initiative aims to eliminate and mitigate the harms of gambling in the US military community. The committee will work closely with the military and the Department of Defense to identify existing problems using evidence-based approaches and develop appropriate recommendations.
MGAC includes highly qualified experts with the knowledge and experience to combat the spread of problematic gambling among the military. They include representatives from the sports and betting industries, including BetMGM Senior Manager of Responsible Gaming Richard Taylor and NASCAR Managing Director of Sports Betting Joe Solosky. Both experts have military service experience in the past. The committee is expected to focus on raising awareness and educating military personnel on gambling-related issues. MGAC will also support mental health initiatives to enhance the readiness and cohesion of the U.S. military.
It is worth noting that the problem of gambling addiction is indeed relevant for the American military. According to a study by the University of Nevada at Las Vegas and Bowling Green State University, signs of gambling addiction are observed in 70% of military personnel.
The Kindbridge Research Institute specializes in mental health issues in the military community. Through research, outreach and innovation programs, the institute strives to improve the lives of military personnel and their families.
